noto studio is a design-led practice based in Cologne, Germany, born from a deep love for coffee, thoughtful objects, and everyday rituals.
What began with an obsession for the details of coffee-making – its tools, movements, and moments – soon evolved into a broader design journey: creating accessories that not only improve function, but also bring a sense of calm, clarity, and aesthetic pleasure to daily life.
Founded by Tobias, with ongoing inspiration and input from his wife Nora, noto studio is rooted in shared values:

What We Make
We design modern accessories that enhance your daily rituals – starting with coffee, but not stopping there. Many of our pieces reimagine familiar tools: not to reinvent them, but to refine them – functionally, visually, and emotionally.
Prototyping begins with sketches, drawings, and detailed measurements, then moves into 3D-printed iterations, allowing us to test form, fit, and feeling before moving toward final materials. The process is slow, iterative, and deeply hands-on. We’re especially drawn to metalwork and the understated elegance of anodized aluminium.
How We Work
We produce in small batches, with longevity and repairability always in mind. All our shipments are carbon-neutral. We collaborate only with a few, selected resellers globally – focusing on quality over quantity, connection over scale.
Inspired by the timeless design philosophies of Charles & Ray Eames, Dieter Rams, and the Bauhaus movement, we believe good design doesn’t shout – it invites you to notice.
noto stands for noticing, for nuance, and also – quietly – for Nora and Tobias. This studio is our shared space, built on the things we love: thoughtful design, quiet beauty, and objects that make the everyday feel just a little more intentional.
